The castle of Selles-sur-Cher resisted the attacks of the Vikings in 935 but was taken by Richard the Lionheart two centuries later.
Joan of Arc stayed there during the Hundred Years War.
The castle was abandoned for year but opened its doors to the public in 2012 thanks to its new owner.
