The castle bears traces of the Gothic, classical and Italian architectural influences of that time.
It was home to Louis XII and a symbol of power.
7 kings and 10 queens lived there and as a matter of fact, it also recalls the daily life at the court.
Some of the masterpieces of Rubens, Ingres and Boucher are exhibited at the museum inside the castle.
